Damn

Well, Karl Rove's grassroots church voting initiative beat out the youth and minority movements. Tons of people showed up to vote, unfortunately, more Republicans than Democrats. The youth movement, the minority movement, MoveOn.org, Michael Moore and even P-Diddy couldn't stand up against Mr. Rove and the 'red wave'.
Damn. I guess the world's biggest super power isn't as progressive as I had hoped. It would have been nice to have grabbed Ohio. In 2008, we'll have to migrate some of the folks from Philly to Cleveland.
Please someone tell me I'm wrong, but are there really more Republicans living in the U.S. than there are Democrats? What can we do about youth? Are all of us young people just a bunch of punks and slackers. Are we all happy to just wallow in cynicism? I hope not.
Cynicism is old news, I say it is time for a change. Youth don't pay as much taxes, don't yet have children going to schools, and are generally the healthiest segment of voting society. Are these all reasons why youth are politically apathetic (and inactive)? Damn.
